Killblane's contribution: The Yakima Wars 1856-1858, is OUTSTANDING! a great narration of the 9th Inf's first actions (not including the original 3 9th Infantry Regiments which were organized and disbanded). It fleshes out the chapters in MAJ Fred R Brown's official history.. well worth the time especially for MANCHUs from the Washington and Oregon areas when the Regiment was stationed at Fort Lewis.
